Nimbus Fintech is building a modern payments and lending platform for India's small businesses. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build and scale the core services behind our merchant payouts, ledger and lending products.
You will own Node.js/TypeScript microservices end to end, from API design and data modelling in PostgreSQL to deployment and monitoring on AWS. You will work closely with product, risk and mobile teams, review code, mentor junior engineers, and help shape our architecture as we grow from thousands to millions of transactions a day.
What you'll do
- Design and ship reliable, secure microservices for payments and lending
- Model and optimise PostgreSQL schemas and queries at scale
- Build event-driven workflows using queues and streams
- Improve observability, testing and CI/CD practices
- Mentor engineers and lead technical design reviews
Must-have skills
- 5-8 years of backend development, with 4+ years in Node.js
- TypeScript in production
- PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, query tuning)
- AWS (ECS/EKS or Lambda, RDS, SQS/SNS)
- Microservices and event-driven architecture
- REST API design and automated testing
Nice to have
- Fintech or payments domain experience (UPI, PCI-DSS)
- Kafka, Redis, Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform
