About the Company

An early-stage, YC-backed fintech company building an AI operating system for commercial lending, automating underwriting and loan servicing for banks and fintechs. The product takes a process that typically takes 150 days down to under two weeks. Backed by well-known venture funds, with named bank and fintech customers already live and multiple pilots converting toward seven-figure ARR.

About the Role

This is one of three Founding Engineer hires. The person in this seat owns product and engineering end to end on one core surface, while also traveling roughly once a month to speak directly with customers. The immediate priority is owning an agent end to end, including computer vision models that parse financial statements and reconcile discrepancies across documents in real time. This is a founding-team seat in spirit, not just in title.

What You'll Own

• Month 1: Become a domain expert in commercial lending from zero; own one agent end to end; begin traveling to customer sites
• Month 3: Ship production-viable software that enables the company to scale from $1M to $10M ARR; forward-deploy with live customers
• Month 6: Take the product from a strong first version to a category-leading one, translating deep industry nuance into the best-performing underwriting agents available

What We're Looking For

• 2 to 6 years of professional engineering experience, real startup experience required
• Backend or infrastructure depth, and raw intelligence with a track record of learning complex things quickly
• Genuine comfort speaking to customers — this is a customer-facing engineering seat, not a heads-down IC role
• Available to travel roughly once a month domestically
• San Francisco-based or willing to relocate, available for an intensive in-person default schedule with flexible Saturdays
• Bonus: prior founder experience at a company that grew, competitive math or programming achievement, computer vision or document AI background, or agent infrastructure experience
