About the Role

The team is expanding its engineering capacity to turn the platform into reliable, useful, and governable enterprise software while supporting a growing customer base. As a Member of Technical Staff, you'll work across the product, including agent execution, memory, skills, harnesses, model and tool use, integrations, infrastructure, and product surfaces. The focus is building dependable AI agent systems that can operate in real business environments, balancing AI fluency with strong software engineering fundamentals.

What You'll Own

• Designing, building, and operating product and platform features across the agent lifecycle
• Improving how agents use context, models, tools, and connected business systems to complete tasks
• Work across memory, skills, the overall harness, infrastructure, optimization, and product experiences as needed
• Building for reliability, observability, security, and clear user control
• Partnering with design and customer-facing teammates to understand problems and ship useful solutions
• Helping establish engineering practices that support fast iteration without sacrificing quality

What We're Looking For

• 1 to 5 years of experience (typically 1 to 5 years out of school)
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping production software, including the ability to understand infrastructure and engineering fundamentals rather than relying solely on AI-assisted development
• Demonstrated experience with AI or agent systems, or a clear record of making them reliable and useful
• A high-growth startup background, ideally on an AI-native product, with the intensity and ownership that come with it. Experience only at large companies, without evidence of startup-level ownership, ambiguity, or pace, is a weaker fit.
• A real spike: an unusually deep technical or non-technical area of expertise you can teach others about clearly
• Broad full-stack range: able to contribute across product, infrastructure, and agent systems and plug in wherever priorities shift, rather than a narrow specialization
• Comfort with ambiguous, high-impact problems, clear communication, and the ability to take ownership without heavy direction
• Comfortable with a 9-9-6 operating rhythm and occasional weekends
• Candidates with nontraditional backgrounds, including failed founders, dropouts, or lower-signal universities, are considered when they demonstrate exceptional strengths elsewhere
• Bonus: TypeScript/Node.js, enterprise software, integrations, or evaluation systems; experience deploying software inside customer environments or working directly with customers; product experience or the ability to contribute to product decisions

Logistics

San Francisco, in office five days a week, with an intense pace (9-9-6). Compensation is $180K to $300K base plus 0.1% to 0.5% equity. Visa sponsorship is available.
