About the Company

A seed-stage AI company building AI-native systems for the offline economy, starting with consumer packaged goods. Customers are the brands that distribute goods to physical and online merchants, the everyday products you'd find in a kitchen, gym bag, or pantry. The small founding team includes math and science competition backgrounds from a top technical university who've gone on to build at well-known technology and finance firms. About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to be one of the first employees. As a founding engineer, you'll deliver modern, agent-first architectures to real customers: building foundational infrastructure, resolving messy data extraction at terabyte scale, designing the primitives for multi-step, memory-intensive agents, and deploying production agents for marquee enterprise customers. You'll also help shape the initial culture of the founding team.

What You'll Own

• Foundational infrastructure, including both single and multi-tenant hosting models
• Messy data extraction at terabyte scale
• The primitives for multi-step, memory-intensive agents and their data access policies
• Production agent deployments for marquee enterprise customers
• Shaping the initial culture of the founding team

What We're Looking For

• Experience on both server-side (Python, Go, Java, or Rust) and client-side (TypeScript) languages
• 3+ years in backend or full-stack engineering, with a track record defining and delivering cross-stack technical designs
• Fluent, hands-on use of modern AI coding agents as part of your daily workflow
• Experience building payment systems or agent architectures
• A top-30 computer science program, or a non-CS background paired with exceptional software engineering experience
• Strong debugging intuition in production environments with limited playbooks
• An ambitious, fast career trajectory: rapid promotion to senior or staff-level scope

Logistics

New York City, in-person five days a week, with a genuinely intense pace. Compensation is $150K to $250K plus 0.5% to 2% equity. Visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation support is offered.
