Platform / Infra Engineer
Gabriel Talent
About the Company
An early-stage AI company, founded in 2025, that builds long-horizon reinforcement learning environments and post-training data for frontier AI labs. Its customers include the leading US frontier labs as well as top international labs, with active engagements across them. Unlike most data vendors, which treat post-training data as a human-services problem, the company treats it as a technical and research problem. The long-term vision is a model that can produce post-training data on its own, so output scales with talent and not with headcount. The company is cash-flow positive, recently raised a seed round, and has a small, elite team with backgrounds in published research, distributed systems, and top AI and technology companies.
About the Role
This seat makes the internal data-production platform as feature-rich, well integrated with the research and data team, and scalable as possible, so the company can meet growing frontier-lab demand. Where the research roles blend research and data work, this one is more focused: strong systems and infrastructure engineering on the platform that produces the data product.
What You'll Own
- Building and scaling the internal data-production platform
- Tight integration between the platform and the research and data team
- Reliability and scale to meet inbound lab demand
- Core infrastructure and systems work
What We're Looking For
- Strong software and infrastructure engineering: distributed systems, platform work, and scaling
- Experience owning and scaling an internal platform end to end
- Fast code comprehension and problem-solving, including JVM-level debugging and async or concurrent I/O
- The ability to build tightly with a research and data team, not an app-layer-only background
- Distributed-systems depth in areas such as databases, networking, messaging, or orchestration
- High slope, results-driven, and deeply committed
- Evidence of obsessive building, such as side projects or open-source work
- Comfort working in person on an intense, fast-moving early team
- 3 to 7 years of experience
