Connecting your email (Gmail, Outlook, SMTP)
Send candidate and client emails from your own address.
Why connect email
Connecting your email account lets SohamRecruit send candidate-facing and client-facing emails from *you*, so replies come back to your inbox. Sending is blocked until an account is connected.
Options, in priority order
- **Gmail OAuth** — connect your Google account from the Settings page. Recommended for Gmail users.
- **Outlook OAuth** — connect a Microsoft account.
- **Custom SMTP** — enter your own SMTP host, port and credentials. Your password is encrypted at rest.
- **System SMTP** — a built-in fallback used when nothing else is connected.
Gmail sending limits
Gmail caps sending at 500 messages a day. SohamRecruit tracks your daily count and stops at 550 to protect your account from a lockout.
Email preview
Actions that send on your behalf show a preview before dispatch. You can turn this off from your Profile page if you prefer.
