Importing from LinkedIn with the Chrome extension

What it does

The SohamRecruit Chrome extension imports the LinkedIn profile you are viewing into your candidate database — no copy-paste. AI extracts the name, headline, location, company, experience and skills; you review the fields and click Import. Duplicate detection runs before anything is created.

Install

• Open the [Chrome Web Store listing](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/aomkdlongicapabobjnpmhcgbahjdcld) and click **Add to Chrome**.
• Sign in to SohamRecruit in any tab — the extension uses your existing login, so there is no separate password.

How to use it

• Open a LinkedIn profile (a `linkedin.com/in/...` page).
• Click the SohamRecruit icon in your toolbar.
• Click **Extract & Preview** — AI parses the visible page text.
• Check the fields, then click **Import candidate**.
• Use **View in SohamRecruit** to jump straight to the new profile.

Good to know

• It reads only the page you have open, and only when you click — no scraping or background collection.
• The candidate's LinkedIn URL is saved on the profile, so you always know the source.
• If the person already exists (matched by email, phone or name), the extension tells you instead of creating a duplicate.
• Emails and phone numbers are only imported when they are visible on the profile — empty fields stay empty.
